PRE-SCHOOL

Boys & Girls

Mighty-Mites (18 mos. to 2.5yrs.) 45 min.

Student/Teacher ratio: 6 to 1. Parents participate with their child in various activities. Gymnastics, rhythm, and basic movements are used to increase fitness, coordination, social skills and self- esteem for your child.

Dyna-Mites (3yr. olds) 45 min.

Student/Teacher ratio 5 to 1. Your child will continue to work on their gymnastics, rhythms, basic movements and increased fitness. They will work on skills to improve their eye-hand, eye-foot coordination; while developing discipline, social skills, and a positive self-esteem. They will also learn basic variations of forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands. Much of the instruction is disguised through movement and games.

Super-Mites (4yr. olds) 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 6 to 1. Your child will continue to work on their gymnastic skills and improve their eye-hand, eye-foot coordination; while developing discipline, social skills, and a positive self-esteem. Your child will continue learning basic variations of forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands. Much of the instruction is disguised through movement and games.

Pre-School Program Theme Weeks

Superbowl Week

Let’s get ready to tummmble! Festivities include tons of gymnastics, huge footballs, pom-poms, megaphones, a “football field” with end zones and a goal post! Show your spirit by wearing your favorite team jersey or cheerleading uniform. Go Fun- Go KIPS!

Valentine’s Week

Wearing red, pink and white, turns this special week out just right!

Easter Week

Peter Cottontail, our big inflatable bunny, hops on by to check out our massive game of Jelly Bean Crab Soccer and our in-class Easter Egg Hunt!

Beach Week

A favorite for everyone, Beach Week is so huge and fun , the festivitiesspan 2 weeks! Closing out the spring semester with a splash, the children come to class with swimsuits on, beach towel in hand and anything else, beachy" that comes to mind! Think sun, think fun!

Olympics Week

This week is SO special that we only celebrate it once every four years! Celebrating everything that our wonderful sport embraces (a sense of self, accomplishment and pride), students experience an Olympic march-in, the passing of the Olympic torch, an in-class "evaluation" on the Olympic events and a gold-medal ceremony celebrating their accomplishments! GO KIPS and GO USA!

Under the Big Top Week

Under the Big Top Week is scheduled for September 10-13. "The Human Cannon Ball", scarf-juggling, "animal-taming" and a spin of the Wheel of Furtune are just some of the highlights of this magical week!

Monster Mash Week

This spooktacular week includes costumes galore as the students (and staff) come to class all dressed for gymnastics, fun, our Spider Fishing Pond and Harry Potter's Ride!

Winter Wonderland Week

A "Texa-style" snowball fight, jingle bells, a sleigh ride and "ice skatin " to get everyone into the holiday spirit!


SCHOOL AGE

Boys

Power-Mites (5-6 yrs.) Boys 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 6 to 1. Boys only. Your child will continue to work on their gymnastic skills and improve their eye-hand, eye-foot coordination; while developing discipline, social skills, and a positive self-esteem. Your child will continue learning basic variations of forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands. Much of the instruction is disguised through movement and games.

Gladiators (7 & up) Boys 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 8 to 1. This is a recreational class that utilizes gymnastics, games, and contests to achieve the goal of fitness. The boys will develop motor development and social skills in a positive and fun environment. Flexibility training is also introduced at this level.

SCHOOL AGE:

Girls

Kippies (5-7 yrs.) Girls - Beginner 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 8 to 1. Beginner. Your child will be instructed on equipment comparable to their stage of motor development and social skills. This program introduces safety, flexibility training, and teaches beginning level skills on all four events (bars, beam, floor and vault). It includes recreational fun and games along with gymnastics and fitness.

Academy (7 & up) Girls Level 1 - Beginner 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 8 to 1. Level 1 & 2 beginner & intermediate. Your child will be instructed on equipment comparable to their stage of motor development and social needs. This program introduces safety, flexibility training, and teaches beginning level skills on all four events (bars, beam, floor and vault). It includes recreational fun and games along with gymnastics and fitness.

Academy (7 & up) Girls Level 2 - Intermediate 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 8 to 1. Level 3. Your child will be instructed on equipment comparable to their stage of motor development and social needs. Students will be divided by skill rather than age. This program also introduces safety, flexibility training and teaches beginning level skills on all four events (bars, beam, floor and vault). It includes recreational fun and games along with gymnastics and fitness.

Accelerated (8 & up) Girls ref. only Level 4 2 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 8 to 1. Level 4 & up. Advanced level gymnastics. The emphasis is based on flexibility, strength and conditioning. Your child will continue their gymnastics on all four events (bars, beam, floor and vault). From here they may proceed to pre-team or team.

OTHER

Boys & Girls

Total Tumbling I (8 & up) Coed 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 10 to 1. This class focuses on fundamental tumbling, as well as mastering standing flip-flops and round-off flip- flops.

Total Tumbling II (8 & up) Coed 1 hr.

Student/Teacher ratio 10 to 1. This level is for tumblers who have mastered round- off flip-flops. They will be introduced to flip-flop series, back flips, and elite tumbling.


ADULT

Adult class Coed 1hr.

This class meets once a week for one hour, and focuses on conditioning, flexibility, stretching, and cardio work-out, with a mix of some basic gymnastic skills.


Holiday Schedule

We tend to follow the KISD calendar with a few exceptions. KIPS is closed on Labor Day, Halloween Eve (if falls on a week day), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day, and July 4th. We are open during Spring Break week for day camp.
